Recently, I had just completed the hot stone massage workshop to learn how to put on my practice. The primary reason for me to take up this workshop, is to cater for people who aim for relaxing their mind and body without much pressure exerted onto their body tissues. The hot stone massage is a form of thermotherapy treatment, in which heat is apply on to the body tissues. This massage emphasizes on the hot stones to carry out the treatment, so lesser manual techniques are used.
Hot stone massage has several benefits to our body,
- Help relieve muscle tension and pain
- Reduces stress and anxiety
- Promotes sleep
- Promote blood circulation and lymph drainage
- May boost immunity
However, not everyone can receive this treatment especially people with,
- bleeding disorder or take blood thinners
- burns on skin
- Rhemotoid arthritis
- Any autioimmune diseases
- open wounds
- history of blood clots
- surgey done in recent years
- fracture or osteoporosis
- thrombocytopenia
- diabetes
- Receiving cancer treatments and used of steroids
Hence, when this treatment is available in my practice, it will only be provided to people with good health conditions to avoid any health compications and to ensure the safety of my clients.
