About me

Hi, my name is Yann and I’m an Asian male bodywork therapist fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

I’ve had several years of massage experience in Asia and the Middle East and completed a Diploma in Naturopathic Massage in 2017.

Before taking the course with the College of Massage & Natural Therapies, my massage technique tended more towards the Swedish style with a small element of deep tissue massage.

Most of my clients enjoyed it because they just needed a light touch and a bit of pampering, to relax their bodies and free up their minds. However, some clients preferred to have a deep tissue massage, as they had been engaging in high-intensity physical activity and needed to have their muscles stretched and their muscle stiffness reduced.

The Diploma course in Naturopathic Massage exposed me to a lot of other massage techniques, through the coach and also peers who were already trained massage therapists. Naturopathic Massage is a holistic system of bodywork developed. Its origins are in Ayurvedic Massage, Chinese Medicine, reflexology, Shiatsu, and yoga breathing work. There is an emphasis on Eastern medical theory that the physical body is a gross manifestation of a subtle body composed of a life force (chi or prana), emotions, and other energies, and that each of those is related and has an effect on the others. Physical or emotional stresses can lead to a blockage or disruption in the flow of chi or prana, which can cause bones to shift out of place and/or create tension in the body.

Eventually, I have been able to formulate a unique massage technique that is more toward deep tissue massage with a combination of stretching and breathing techniques. The intensity of the massage is moderate to high, and most of my male clients enjoy this range of intensity, hence I decided to specialize in working with male clients. Nevertheless, it is important that you are comfortable with that level of intensity if you book a massage session with me.

For your information, I have also completed my Bachelor of Health Science in 2021, to broader my health knowledge. This will enable me to be in a better position to provide health information to my clients and allow my clients to discuss it with me if they wish to.
